Waterless valeting is built for company cars that are cleaned regularly and carry normal road grime. Its limits are cars caked in heavy mud or sand, and the underside of the car, which a valet does not reach. For most fleets those are occasional exceptions that a schedule and a garage cover, not reasons to wash cars with a hose.
Where does waterless valeting work well?
On cars that are cleaned often enough that dirt never builds up. Dust, road film, light mud splashes and insect residue are exactly what a waterless pre-treatment is designed to lift, and a car on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedule rarely gets beyond that. That covers most company cars, pool cars, sales cars and executive cars.
It also works where other methods cannot: in a car park with no tap, a multi-storey, or a site where washing on the premises is not allowed. The technician brings everything and cleans the car where it stands. How the process works is set out in how waterless fleet valeting works.
When is waterless valeting not the right tool?
When a car is caked in heavy contamination. Thick mud, sand or site dust holds more abrasive material than a pre-treatment can safely lift, and wiping it risks marking the paint. MMCC’s service is designed for standard-sized cars in reasonable condition; very dirty or very large vehicles may need assessing first and may cost more. A car that has been to a muddy site is best brought back into the schedule after its worst soiling has been dealt with.
Does waterless valeting clean the underside of a car?
No. A valet cleans the visible exterior and the interior, not the underbody. Cars that spend the winter on gritted roads should have the underside checked by the servicing garage — see how road salt corrodes fleet bodywork.
What does waterless valeting add that a car wash does not?
Protection and a record. PureShield ceramic protection is applied on every tier, lasting up to a month on Basic and Full valets and up to three on Ultimate, where a car wash usually strips protection off. And every fleet service records a 20-point Vehicle Health Check, so each visit leaves a dated condition record that a car wash does not.
Is it suitable for every vehicle in a fleet?
It is designed for cars: company cars, pool cars, executive cars and staff car-park cars. Cars are the only vehicles MMCC services.
How should a fleet cover the gaps?
With a schedule tight enough that heavy soiling is rare, and the garage for the underside. For fleets that occasionally send cars to muddy sites, the practical answer is to note those cars and have the worst dealt with before the next scheduled valet.
