How Often Should Corporate Fleet Vehicles Be Professionally Valeted?

Finding the right valeting frequency for your fleet balances vehicle condition, budget, and operational needs. Here is how to determine the optimal schedule.

One of the first questions fleet managers ask when considering mobile valeting is: “How often should we service each vehicle?” The answer depends on several factors, and getting the frequency right ensures you protect your assets without overspending.

Factors That Determine Valeting Frequency

Vehicle Usage

High-mileage vehicles that are on the road daily accumulate dirt, road film, and interior wear faster than vehicles used occasionally. Pool cars that are shared between multiple drivers typically need more frequent attention than individually assigned company cars.

Parking Environment

Vehicles parked in covered garages stay cleaner longer. Vehicles left in open car parks are exposed to bird droppings, tree sap, UV radiation, and airborne pollutants — all of which cause paintwork damage if not removed promptly.

Season and Weather

British weather creates specific fleet care challenges:

  • Autumn/Winter: Road salt, grit, and mud accelerate underside and paintwork corrosion
  • Spring: Tree sap and pollen bond to paintwork and are difficult to remove once cured
  • Summer: UV exposure fades paint and degrades interior materials

Fleet care frequency should account for seasonal variation, with increased attention during autumn and winter.

Vehicle Role

Client-facing vehicles need to be presentable at all times. A sales representative’s car should be valeted more frequently than a vehicle used solely for site-to-site transport.

Based on our experience maintaining corporate fleets across London and the Home Counties, here are our recommended schedules:

Weekly Basic Valet

  • High-use pool cars shared by multiple drivers
  • Vehicles in customer-facing roles with daily client contact
  • Vehicles parked outdoors in high-pollution areas

Fortnightly Basic or Full Valet

  • Individually assigned company cars with moderate mileage
  • Vehicles used for commuting and occasional client visits
  • Standard recommendation for most corporate fleets

Monthly Full Valet

  • Low-mileage company cars or benefit cars
  • Vehicles garaged overnight
  • Supplemented with quarterly Ultimate Valets

Quarterly Ultimate Valet

  • All fleet vehicles, regardless of frequency of regular valeting
  • Provides deep interior cleaning, leather conditioning, and extended ceramic protection
  • Essential for pre-lease-return preparation (schedule 4–6 weeks before return date)

The PureShield Factor

MMCC’s PureShield SiO₂ ceramic protection, applied during every valet, extends the effective cleaning interval. The hydrophobic coating causes water and dirt to bead and run off the surface, meaning vehicles stay visibly cleaner for longer between services.

This allows many fleets to operate on a fortnightly schedule that would otherwise require weekly attention.

Cost Optimisation

The smartest approach is a tiered schedule:

Vehicle CategoryService LevelFrequencyApproximate Cost/Month
Executive carsFull ValetFortnightly~£100
Company carsBasic ValetFortnightly~£70
Pool vehiclesBasic ValetWeekly~£140
All vehiclesUltimate ValetQuarterly~£90/quarter

This tiered approach allocates budget where it delivers the most value whilst maintaining a baseline standard across the entire fleet.

The Right Schedule for Your Fleet

Every fleet is different. MMCC’s complimentary fleet audit assesses your specific vehicles, usage patterns, and priorities to recommend a schedule that balances cost, condition, and convenience.
